From the bustling streets of Jakarta to the ancient temples of Borobudur and Yogyakarta, the volcanic landscapes of Bromo, and the lush jungles of Ubud and Seminyak, immerse yourself in the beauty and diversity of this captivating archipelago.

Upon arrival at Airport in Jakarta, we are met by our guide and transferred to the hotel to check-in.

On arrival, you are met by our guide and transferred to your hotel in Borobudur. Rest of day at leisure (B).

The highlight today is exploration of the world’s largest Buddhist monument – the spectacular Borobudur Temple. This UNESCO World Heritage Site dates back to the 9th century. After the decline of Buddhism and shift of power to East Java, the monument was abandoned soon after completion and for centuries lay forgotten, buried under layers of volcanic ash. With plenty of time set aside to explore this complex of temple. Afterwards, we visit nearby temples such as Candi Pawon and Candi Mendut (B).

Transfer back to Yogyakarta city and enjoy a full day your before checking in at your hotel. Gain an insight into Yogyakarta’s rich history on this fascinating tour of Indonesia’s cultural beating heart. We start at the Kraton which is a prime example of traditional Javanese palace architecture and this site contains the Sultan’s Palace, the seat of the reigning Sultan of Yogyakarta and his family. Over 25,000 people live within the greater Kraton compound of Taman Sari, which houses a market, shops, cottage industries, schools and mosques. Next, we proceed to Kota Gede, the hub of the city’s silver industry where we visit a busy silversmith’s workshops. In the afternoon we explore Indonesia’s largest Hindu site, Prambanan, a complex of ornate temples with wall carvings that relate the story of the Ramayana epic. We are met by our driver and guide and transferred to this UNESCO World Heritage Site which is home to the three revered temples of Candi Shiva Mahadeva, Candi Brahma and Candi Vishnu. These magnificent shrines were erected in the 9th century when Java was ruled by the Hindu Sanjayas of Old Mataram (B).

Transfer to Yogyakarta Train Station, where you will board an early morning train to Mojokerto Train Station. Watch local life unfolds both on-board the Sancaka train and alongside the track on this scenic journey. After arrival, transfer to the Bromo area (3hs drive). Arrive on time for lunch. Rest of the day at leisure (B).

Watch the sunrise unveil a spectacular view of Bromo, Batok and Semeru volcanoes, followed by a climb up Mount Bromo for an entirely different perspective of this amazing site. Departing at around 4 am, we transfer to Penanjakan to witness the sunrise (weather permitting) from a platform near the smouldering volcanic complex of Tengger Massif. Next, we cross to the foot of Mount Bromo to climb the stairs to the crater to peer inside this rumbling volcano. After our descent, we return to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure (B).

Transfer to the Surabaya Airport (SUB) for your flight to Bali (DPS). On arrival, transfer to your hotel in Ubud (B).

Full day tour of the surroundings. Our first stop will be the holy spring of Tirta Empul, which is surrounded by a large shrine to honour the God Indra. There are bathing pools which are believed to have strong curative powers at this site. On the hill behind this temple is a presidential guest house built by the late President Sukarno. We then follow the road to Kintamani where you will see the beautiful UNESCO acclaimed rice terraces of Tegalalang, as well as imposing Mount Agung. The tour highlight is to the top of the ridge of Mount Batur, with a view of the 7.5 km volcano crater below. Continuation to Bali swing, time at leisure at ‘Aloha Ubud Swing’ in Tegalalang Area – Experience one or several of Swings (**note that the queue for the swing could be 45 minutes – 1 hour long). The last stop of the day will be Ubud Art Market where we can find various art and craft from the surrounding village (B).

Tour of East Bali. A must see for every visitor to Indonesia is the ‘mother temple’ Besakih, which is located on a slope of Mount Agung. We then explore Taman Tirta Gangga (Water Palace) which gives an insight into the days of the Balinese Rajahs. This is a former royal palace and it is named after the sacred River Ganges. It is noted for the Karangasem Royal Water Palace, bathing pools and a temple and you can enjoy a swim in the natural pools before enjoying a set menu lunch (drinks not included). We will then drive to Tenganan Village, an original Balinese village whose inhabitants preserve ancient traditions. At this location you can see local women weave the famous ‘flaming cloth’ (kamben geringsing) which is said to immunize the wear. We will transfer back to our hotel to rest (B).

Full day cooking class and Spa session. Get hands-on and find out the culinary secrets of authentic Balinese cooking. Starting at 7 am, you’ll be taken to Ubud’s Traditional Market where you will barter with the locals to buy your ingredients to make your meal. Once you have everything you need, you will head to the fully equipped community kitchen and utilise traditional ingredients and preparation methods to make an authentic local dish under step-by-step instruction from a Balinese chef. Afterwards, sit down with your fellow chefs and enjoy your meal. Not only will you have the satisfaction of learning about Balinese cooking, such as using a variety of spices, but this activity will also make for a memorable experience. We will then treat ourselves a self-pampering time with Kaveri Spa’s Pampering Package. Begin with a full-body Traditional Balinese Massage and continue with Body Scrub and Body Mask to freshen up your skin with nourishing natural goodness. To end the pampering ritual, soak yourself in the authentic Celebration of Flowers (B, L).

Today, we will visit and learn from a village community in Bali. We will start by learning about Balinese house compound and its philosophy. We will then enjoying some refreshment and traditional snacks made by the villagers. We will then take our time to learn making the Balinese daily offering (canang), natural woven handcraft, Balinese coconut wine, Balinese wood carving, and Balinese coconut oil. We will also experience a traditional way of plowing & planting paddies on a real rice fields. After, we will have a lunch of Balinese cuisine at the village. We will then continue the tour to Tanah Lot Temple – one of the holiest temples in Bali which is built atop a huge rock, surrounded by the ocean. Soak in the mystical atmosphere and watch the sun set. After watching the sunset, watch Kecak Dance in nearby venue, dinner at D'Jukung Restaurant before transfer to your hotel in Seminyak (B, L, D).

Morning at leisure. Later on, we will visit a winery. Embark on a guided tour to unveil the secrets of Sababay Winery. Prepare your palate for an epicurean feast as we pair our exquisite wines with a delectable dining experience. Our team will be your guides as you explore the symphony of flavors and aromas in every sip. As you indulge in the magic of wine and food pairing that will tantalize your taste buds with a mouthwatering selection of main courses and heavenly desserts that perfectly complement our wines. Note: Picnic inclusion is wine tasting and cheese platter. Afterwards, we visit Tegenungan, a waterfall with crystal clear water and an amazing view of more stupendous scenery. We can enjoy a refreshing dip in a natural swimming pool that, according to Balinese Hindu belief, has purification powers over bad influences. After enjoying the jets of water from the 25-meter-high fall, we will transfer back to our hotel (B, L).

Morning visit to Celuk Village to join a silver jewelry class. Handcrafted Jewelry is a rarity in these modern times, and Bali is one of the last places in the word such methods are still practiced. Learn to craft by hand, using traditional techniques, such as the intricate tasks of shaping, filling, decorating, and finishing. On completion of the workshop, we are confident that you will leave with the feeling of the world long forgotten and hopefully a beautiful piece of Bali magic. Go back to your hotel to enjoy the rest of your day at leisure (B).
